Shelli Bement jewelry

Shelli Bement

As the only child of a musician father and a painter-musician mother, Shelli (Ohler) Bement was no doubt genetically predisposed to pursue the life of an artist. After finishing high school in Spokane, Washington as valedictorian, Shelli was offered both music and academic scholarships to attend Eastern Washington University.

Shelli's creativity has once again surfaced, this time in the form of jewelry design. Shelli describes it as "a hobby gone wild!" The interest in her early designs by family and friends led her to list them on eBay where she found further encouragement. One thing led to another and soon she was designing full-time. Within two years Shelli was accepted to show her work at the area's top art festivals, including Boulder City's Art in the Park, Henderson's Artfest, Summerlin's Village Square Art Walk (The Trails), and Celebration of the Arts. Shelli is quickly becoming one of the area's most popular silversmiths and will no doubt tackle gold in short order. Her current designs are described as "organic", "funky", "fun" and a slew of other adjectives...but never "ordinary"!

Shelli's popularity as a designer and business owner continues to grow. Clients love to visit the store to purchase one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. Recently Shelli completed advanced courses in silversmithing and can often be seen in her shop at the workbench, torch in hand and safety goggles in place, working on her latest pendant, necklace, ring, bracelet, or pair of earrings. In addition to her art show and boutique items, Shelli specializes in custom-order pieces that are " co-designed" by her clients. "There's nothing quite like the satisfaction I get when I see a client whose ideas have been brought to life by my work", says Shelli. You can reach her at her studio in Henderson at (702)304-BELL, or online at www.shellbell.com.
