I recently started painting silk scarves with a friend, just for a change of pace. In doing this, I started using new colors and designs which I really liked and thought it would be a great idea to incorporate them into my teapots. This led to a whole new teapot design.
I hand build all of my pots from clay slabs. It is very time consuming compared to throwing on a wheel, but I prefer my end results. I fire three times, instead of the usual two times, because I use luster and gold glazes on top of the high fired stoneware glazes.
