The essence of style adorned with nostalgic fabric is captured in the name “Newstalgia”. The designers of “Newstalgia” Furniture are Bernhard and Carson Jansen, a husband and wife team from Arizona. Bernhard had his beginning in Germany, being born into an artistically rich family. He received his training in metalwork in Germany and traveled to foreign lands including Africa, South America, and the Middle East, where he developed an appreciation for these cultures and arts. Bernhard came to the U.S. in 1987 and perfected his precision metal artistry. As for Carson, textiles have always been her passion. She fell in love with the nostalgic fabric of the 40’s and 50’s called Nylon Frise which was used for theater and train seats in that era. Bernhard brings aesthetic form and precision detail to the fashioned metal, and Carson creates the fabrics which are the paints on her canvas. Newstalgia Furniture is truly a collaboration by fine artists. Click Here for more images of my work.
