I live in a very rural, off-grid, 40 acre setting in a studio I built myself in 1997. Inspiration for my Landscapes comes from the wildness which holds me connected to the earth, The joys and heartaches I experience in personal relationships is the inspiration for my Figurative Work.
I always paint direct on the canvas without preliminary drawing. I attempt to share my inner landscape with the viewer. I have a love affair with oil paints. I love their aliveness.
I feel most successful when someone transits from viewer to participant when experiencing my work and has an emotional response. I value my First Place Award in the Big Island SpringFest and the subsequent reviews in the Honolulu papers.
