Lonnie travels throughout the Southwestern United States applying his background and love for the outdoor world to focus most of his work on nature itself. The images are not intended to be travel documentary, but rather carefully composed works of art with the final goal of bringing the excitement felt by the photographer to the viewer. The vitality of the visual experience and intense emotions of the scene are captured on film in many forms – from grand vistas to isolated subjects to abstract renditions. Lonnie hopes the images have an impact on how you see our natural world.
Besides selling his images in some of the finer art festivals of the Southwest, Lonnie is special travel editor for Nature Photographer, a national photography magazine. Lonnie is a cofounder of The Nature Workshops and has been teaching for approximately twenty years. He is a member of Canon’s Professional Services Group, and further promotes the natural world and photographic art through his memberships in the Sierra Club, National Geographic Society, North America Nature Photography Association, the Nature Conservancy, National Parks and Conservation Association, the National Wildlife Federation, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, and Mountain Artists’ Guild. Lonnie may be reached at his studio in Erie, Colorado at (303) 828-3210, or online at www.lonniebrockphoto.com.
