Seth Bailey has been working with wood for over 20 years now. He became interested in lathe work after his wife purchased him a lathe for his birthday. “It has now become an obsession,” said Seth. He has finally found his niche with wood in the pieces he turns on the lathe. He has since become interested in segmented turnings with the various patterns he is able to create using multiple layers of various types of wood.
“When I pick up a piece of wood to turn, I try to envision what shape it can become. I love the natural and raw edges of wood and try to incorporate them in my designs. Turning wood has become a passion for me. I love the way the lathe brings out the beauty and color of each piece. Every piece of wood is unique; a one-of-a-kind work of art.”
Seth has since opened his first official web site to further display his art when he is not attending local and out-of-state art shows. You may view his work online at www.creativewoodturnings.com
