NEW: Update On Venue Layout – 9/12/2018

Dear Artists,

We have been working closely with the city these last couple weeks and it is determined that two wheel chair accessible bridges will be built connecting the two sides of our festival in time for the 2018 ArtFest of Scottsdale in November. With this news, we are able to utilize the majority of the Civic Center venue meaning we will be using the area in front of the Scottsdale Center of the Arts as in the past.

Attached is a new site map. You will be able to see the inaccessible area on the map with the two bridges on the north and south side.
If you would like to request a SLR or if you have already submitted your SLR for the preliminary map, please submit your new map request prior to October 21st, which is when we will be completing the layout for your booth spaces. We will start sending out space assignment letters on Monday, October 22nd.

Venue layout has changed – click for details!

Dear Artists,

Thank you for your interest in this year’s 25th Annual, ArtFest of Scottsdale.  We appreciate your patience during this unusually long jury process.  About a week ago we received news that the city is planning to start construction on Drinkwater Boulevard and its overpass which is directly in the middle of the festival.  At this time, we are unsure if the city will be able to build a temporary bridge in time to connect the two sides of the festival (engineers are working on it), which means the spaces in front of the Center for the Arts (west side) may not be available. The construction will be under the overpass on the road, not in direct view to the ArtFest but does restrict the use of the overpass above Drinkwater Blvd.   This construction not only affects the ArtFest but all upcoming events at this location over the next several months.

This is the first time such an issue has arisen in our 25 years hosting the festival in this location. Luckily, we have a contingency plan in place for this scenario. We are working with the Center for the Arts and the City to limit any disruptions.  We will be using the City Hall parking lot for artists booths, similar to the Center for the Arts March art show, held in the same location. We will have complementary golf cart shuttles that will be able to take people to and from the festival from the surrounding areas. As well as additional signage to guide festival goers.  We are working diligently to provide the same high-quality festival the ArtFest has become known for.  My father, Frank Maguire, and I have experienced issues similar to this in the past, having produced hundreds of festivals over the last 40 years across the south west. We feel confident we can make this work.
